• - VC250 - Senior Design Project - In this students are challenged to develop a portfolio design project. Software used - Photoshop, Dreamweaver, 3Ds Max, Flash, Premiere Pro, After Effects.
• - CD320 - Design Theory and Methods - Students are introduced to basic to intermediate design concepts and principals with a focus on introducing students to design software. Software used - Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.
• - IT309 - Animation I - Students are introduced to 3Ds Max keyframing and animation. Software used - 3Ds Max
• - IT310 - Audio / Video Editing Techniques - Students use current video editing software to create professional video advertisments and short documentaries. Software used - Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop.

 

Web Development & Multimedia Design

Institutional Marketing - 2008 - 2009

- Web Developer / Interactive Designer -

Experienced using CSS standards, HTML, XML, Adobe Flash, and advanced ActionScript 3 to construct fluid and dynamic websites for our central client Grand Valley State University. Developed and managed from begining to end dozens of widely used university sites. Developed custom Flash applications with Flash CS3 and Actionscript 3. Basic FTP, ColdFusion, PHP hosting and maintenance knowledge.

The web development team at Grand Valley incorporates an extremely large custom CMS system which houses hundreds of thousands of minor sites and web pages. Each individual site throughout the CMS system is custom designed around the CMS template to give each department at the university its own individuality. HTML and CSS are used on a daily basis to construct fluid websites both inside Grand Valley's custom management system and outside of it. Often the clients have requested a custom landing page or web portasl which may contain 5-10 pages of custom design content developed using CSS and HTML standards.

At Periwinkle Lane Interiors I utilized several applications in the Adobe Creative Suite to develop a web presence for this developing company. From Photoshop logo designs to Dreamweaver and Flash dynamic web application development such as promotional videos and image gallery slideshows.

Worked on a range of challenging, experimental and interactive projects and applications which were resolved using a wide range of media. These projects provided the framework for the development of increased intellectual, aesthetic considerations and technical understanding. Projects were often run by professionals such as IT professionals, artists, scientists, product designers and architects as a way of offering an opportunity to explore and develop dynamic and innovative communication. Empirically based decision-making, leadership development, communication theory and technology and it's social contexts are also a central focus in the program.
